Learning Technologies News

Welcome new Department of Learning Technologies Staff Member

Michael.jpg

We are very pleased to share that Michael Lampe has joined the department as Instructional Design Specialist. You may remember Michael's excellent work with the Title III Grant/Active Learning Initiative last year. Michael will be working with the UPOnline Course Consultation program and helping to support faculty with the use of classroom technology; as well as providing learning technologies consultation for individuals and groups.

To kick off the new support for faculty on campus, Michael will be leading the following workshops for the Spring Semester:

My Instructional Challenges: What Can Be Done?

Tuesday March 8th at 3:30pm (ADMIN 104)

This workshop is all about you as the instructor of your course! Let's have a conversation about what you are seeing with your students, classroom strategies, and technologies with faculty around you. Michael Lampe will also provide the latest trends going on in higher education and how you could possibly implement one or two new ideas in your course instruction!

What In The World Does INTERACTION Mean?

Tuesday April 5th at 3:30pm (ADMIN 104)

This workshop is all about defining interaction in your course and classroom. How do you define interaction between faculty and students? How does interaction change when introducing technology in the classroom? Does this change when I teach course content online? Explore these questions and research relating to classroom interaction.

TGIS - Thank Goodness It's Summer: Let's Reflect

Tuesday May 3rd at 3:30pm (ADMIN 104)

The best way to debrief, destress, and re-engage in the planning stages of your course is by reflecting on how things went this semester. Learning Technologies is inviting you to stop by and talk to other faculty about successes, challenges, and next steps!

Michael is working to significantly revise and re-organize our web information for the department to centralize our support and consultation information. The new site will debut fall semester 2016. Your input into that redesign would be greatly appreciated. Please take a few moments to respond to our brief survey:
